The Stranglers- Suite xvi,Who are playing Manchester Academy on Saturday Nov 3,the mini bus is booked. After all the plop that has been going down around here lately it will be great to have an old punk rock night out to blow away the bad vibes.
Too right, my mate went to a stranglers gig lasst november, said it was one of the best nights out he'd ever had.

Yes I think a load went from the Milly (IIRC). I have only got 'the best of' at the minute, but I like what I am hearing so may look into them a lot more. Beats any of the student type stuff about these days.

I heard today that there is a mini bus also going from the Angel(the Appo).Sadly i heard today that Paul Raven bass player with Killing Joke and Ministry died of a Heart attack on Saturday age 46,shame,god this year can't end quick enough.

Unknown Pleasures - Joy Division (new re-issue) Is the remaster any different or is it just a marketing ploy Jon? Not really interested in the live stuff - got more Joy Div bootlegs than you can shake a stick at.

I think a bit of both, its been 'cleaned' a bit, but the original was good enough for me. I think its all to link in with the control film, but anything that gets the kids into JD/NO has to be a good thing. The live album's aren't that special, and as you say how many bootlegs do you need (but if anyone's got NO on the Big Day Out tour of Australia let me know)! Cheers Jon

I have seen the Strangs many times with Hugh and i was at the last gig he played with the Strangs at ally pally in 1990,i seen them also loads of times with Paul Roberts, but this line up with Baz and jj singing is as good as watching the Strangs since Black and White days.If you have ever liked the Strangs and you aint seen them in the last two years do your self a favour and have a butches.Waiting for the Meninblack.
