We are presently getting some grief from the server hosting company because the site is still causing overload; we have put some suggestions to them and are awaiting their response.

One of their early suggestions is to move Trust in Widnes onto its own dedicated server; however, this would cost £80 per month (anyone feeling REALLY generous?)

However, in the interim, it has been necessary to make some changes.  The data storage tables have been optimised, some old data has been removed, the links have been changed to text rather than images, avatars have been removed, and smileys have had to go too.  It is also recommended that users keep their PM inbox to a minimum (i.e. think 10 messages, not 1000 messages!)

Hopefully these changes will be temporary until the server issue is resolved, and we hope it doesn't spoil your enjoyment of the messageboard too much.

I'm not really bothered about Avatars, but it will be World War III on here with no Smiley's.

They get the picture across as to how the poster meant you to take what he said, rather than just reading the text and presuming the wrong thing.

Looks like there will be a lot of lol's & " only joking " at the end of posts.  lol

I agree too Spelly... but in my defence that was a 'cut and paste' job from a web page!!  Can't say I did a proof reading job first   ROFL

I'm sure there are also many many more too - but it is a very helpful list so ty
With regards to LOL I initially thought it meant Lots of laughing but then was told it is Laughing out Loud personally i think both are correct depending on the use/context.

a few more to include in the list are:

pmsl = tizer myself laughing
tmi = too much information
yw = your welcome
mimo = miss it miss out
l8r = later
