Just noticed on the cup draws post by Saint that West Bank Bears have been ordered to play all their remaining games away from home due to spectator problems.
What has been going on there?

"Away from home"

Does that mean away from the home ground or outside of Widnes Huh
Cos I'm sure if they play their remaining games at Leigh Rec or Wilmere Lane the same "fans" will follow them wherever they play in Widnes, unless the club actually ban them from attending matches. Which I'm sure would be very difficult to do.

Disgraceful stuff.

Didn't happen in my day.

West Bank Bears had a great atmosphere as DLM will remember. Maybe someone from the club could comment on the situation. Sometimes, lads playing the game may have the odd scuffle on the pitch and fans have a bit of banter and mickey-taking and thats all fair play. People play for the enjoyment and coaches and people behind the scenes, like Paul Farrell (I assume he's still involved down there), worked so hard to get the club back playing again, only for, and again I'm assuming here, a few nob heads, who cant go a few hours without a drink, to spoil it for the majority. A dozen nob heads at a Widnes- Wire game can go almost unnoticed, but 5 or 6 at an amateur game is like a full scale riot. Disgraceful. The people causing trouble ought to be a ashamed. Its very unfair for those playing for or volunteering their spare time for West Bank to be punished for the behaviour of a few mindless Richard-head!!!

Have to agree with you,the more people stay silent about the bears the more people will start to speculate about whats happening down there, the games hard enough without speccies kicking off here and there

well that is up to the bears to comment if they wish and not the place of other clubs .
but why would they wish to ...no point in airing dirty washing in public for all to see ...its a NWC issue now .

The reason for the spectator trouble is just one lad.  He does nothing but abuse players and officials.  He needs to be banned from watching or it could be bad news for the bears!

Just as a side-note, but wasn't the bloke who attacked Roger Unsworth at the GF wearing a West Bank tracksuit top? Is it the same bloke?

Dunno about that Nudge but it was Roger Harrison who was attacked.

The idiot that smacked Roger Harrison is not the player that has caused trouble for the Bears.
