i have 2 sons who play for the bears and try to watch as much as work commitments will let me first off have never heard of a bears supporter pulling a knife and im sure i would have and second when i asked about the report in paper was told it was just 1 person getting a bit cheesed off at the ref and as everyone knows this happens whether you are an bears supporter right through to a bradford supporter

I know people can get fed up with the refs decisions but you cant take the law into your own hands and if there isnt a ref then there wont be any game

as you are all aware it is very easy for people to watch come up and watch l;ocal rugby since the feilds are all council owned  however west bank bears will do and have done everything in there control . to make sure spectator and refere abuse wether verbally or phsyical is stamped out of the game and will not be tolerated. any member of the west bank section found to be doing so would be asked not to attend any more matches. so players and spectators can have a enjoyable time in our game

Its not like Super League where all the refs get together and discuss, most refs arent bother how games turn out they just want to do there best.

This wasn't an issue with the refs leppo..

A spectator who used to play for the club ?allegedly? threatened and assaulted a player from the opposition after a game. The week after the same thing happened again same spectator and same out come with another family member joining in.

It looks bad for the club and it doesn?t help their reputation with West Bank having such a good setup with the young kids. Sad state of affairs all around really.

Who was the speccie? His surname wouldn't begine with an "F"? by any chance would it?

I used to play for the Bears (many years ago!) and the characters there have added to the charm, shall we say. As said before, you've got people like Paul Farrell who aren't "head-the-balls" doing great work for the kids down there. It does, however, sadden me that within months of someone (with a Bears trackie on) smacking Roger Harrison, they've now been banned from Home matches too.

I?d rather not give the details of the people involved, they know who they are and so do the league who have dealt with them. (Fines and Bans where handed out)

Your right though ?Chuffer? guys like Paul work their socks off for the club and incidents like this can make a big dent in the clubs reputation.

I played for the Bears over the past few seasons and I?ve seen some good lads leave because they where fed up with the hassles on the side lines.
