I think I've seen it where Richard Lewis has said there'll be no more than 14 teams in Super League come 2009. 14 teams, that's 26 games playing everybody else home and away, without these daft "add on" fixtures that we've had of late.

Personally, I can't see any of the current dozen SL members missing out, which'll leave just two places to fill, and I reckon it'll be any pair from the trio of the Taffs, the Frogs, and the Pinks, that'll join 'em.

There has seemed to be an obsession for years to spread the game into Wales, and I see no reason why a team that started in the lower Divisions should get into Super League if they fulfill some of the criteria and can win. I dislike the idea of a team - Catalans and Harlequins - given special privileges to get into and stay in Super League, and for situations in the past where there was no relegation in order to keep in a team that is in the far west of Yorkshire.
