There's something in that BUT what the fans want is exciting games won by Widnes. The problem with that is that close matches sometimes end in defeat - a few of those and the same whingers complaing about too many foregone conclusions last season will be staying away because we're losing games.

To be honest these people probably won't return until we are in SL and there's little we can do to entice them back otherwise!!
All I know is that when I've brought people to the games from outside the sport they have enjoyed a bit of a close run thing more than the tonkings we have given some teams over the last two years.
It's probably these type of people we should be trying to attract.
There's nothing like a nervy finish and an eventual win to get the place excited. A close run defeat can have you thinking about the next game almost immediately to put right the wrongs.

well said chris - most people that turned up last season - did so because they had season tickets - and IMO cant see it being any different this season bu do expect crowds to be bigger with the push of season tickets - would expect to see a rise in numbers from May onwards if the club gets its SL franchise - supporters are so starved of matches now they even attend the "mickey mouse" cup games just to see the team play
