Have any of you got a favourite sports song/chant, maybe its funny or witty or just sticks in your mind or you remember it for another reason.
Here are 2 that i recall

Football

to the tune of Jesus Christ Superstar

Paul Scholes superstar
Got more medals than Shearer

Rugby League

to the tune of Land Of Our Fathers, think it won best song for the 1978 Challenge Cup Final

Widnes we are the best in the land
This will be
We all know
Three times in a row
The cup kings are there
Once again

Well see my sig, that wll be sung proudly next sunday at OT.

I hate lfc but this deffo earns them some respect, beats any of that spangles you would hear at reading or villa etc

Every other Saturday's me half day off
And it's off to the match I go
You?ll see me walking down the Anfield Road
Me and me old pal Joe
We love to see the lasses with their red scarves on
We love to hear the Kopites roar
But I don't have to tell you that best of all
We love to see the Liverpool scooooore (scooore)

This old school MUFC song is class too. Still sang at some away games by older reds.

I'd like to teach the world to sing just like the Stretford End,
We've Alex Stepney in the goal,
And Denis is the King,
Our super star is Georgie Best,
And Willie on the wing,
Forget man city 'cause they are spanglese,
United are the team.
United, United, United, United.......

To the Lena Martell No.1............

One goal at a time Bob Latchford
Is all we're asking of you,
If you hit the bar,
We'll all say aagh!
One goal at a time.

Or the 1978 punk classic by Jilted John, adapted for Man Utd's Scottish centre forward;

Jordan is a moron!

The Stret's riposte was the classic....'Latchford is a moron'........I don't think they got it somehow.

Don't know if it was Utd or Everton fans. To the tune of "Can't touch this" to MC Hammer:

Have any of you got a favourite sports song/chant, maybe its funny or witty or just sticks in your mind or you remember it for another reason.

The Kop were chanting "Attack, attack attack" when onto the pitch came a cat, and the chant changed to "A cat a cat a cat".

Let's keep these reasonably positive eh?

No boring stuff about regional stereotypes (unless it's the Kop singing "You only sing when you're fishing" to Grimsby fans).

And certainly no jibes about serial killers.

Fair enough steve.

ooo taaa beee aaahh woolie is a belter, although I think it was nicked from either everton or arsenal. Though I may be wrong.

Chim chimenee chim chimenee chim chim cherrooo, we hate those bounties in primrose n blue.

I seem to remembee that being sung om my very first visit to the cowshed, circa 93-94ish. Quality Wink

Follow follow follow is another great widnes' effort, although I am not too sure the forum users would be too happy if I enlightened you all to the words. Grin

"Two Andy Goram's, There's Only two Andy Goram's, two Andy Goram's, there's only two Andy Goram's!"

Celtic fans to the schizophrenic Andy Goram.
