Warrington students on Wednesday named a street and unveiled a wall of fame in memory of the late Mike Gregory.

Mike Gregory Street, in Warrington Collegiate, will be a lasting tribute to the former Warrington and Great Britain captain and Wigan coach, who died in November after a long illness at the age of 43.

His widow Erica was joined at the ceremony by sons, Ben (5) and Sam (9), as she unveiled a special plaque in his memory.

Erica said: "This is just the perfect tribute to Mike. The mural encapsulates everything which he achieved in life together with his vibrancy and tremendous personality."

Bob Eccles, a former Warrington team-mate, said: "It is superb that the Mike Gregory name lives on and is linked with education. He felt very strongly about young people pursuing both sport and education."

too right, not that I normally praise wi*e, but much credit where due, this is a tremendous gesture, and something that I am sure Mike would love. Great that it has been done with the college too.
