Looking at the league tables, looks like the widnes cup is going to be very hard to judge this year apart from simmis and maries but from the rest i would say any of the lower club teams division 3 and 4 could compete against 1 and 2

hopefully it should be a close call this year and i think it depends on the draw
the widnes cup has gone a bit dull last few years with the outcome becoming predictable
but there could be a few upsets i think, which might put the interest back into it

The Swan came close last year losing out in the final by a point and no 1 thought we would reach the final. my team to beat this year will be the Albert they have come on so well and have always gave us a tough game.

I certainly wouldnt say the Widnes cup as gone boring. The Swan did superb last year and many would argue should have beaten simmies. Other sides have given simmies and maries good games too whilst beating each other. I agree that while simmies and the maries are still Widnes 2 best sides that others are possibly getting closer.

Good post DLM couldn't agree more on all points.
I start feeling sick every time I think back to last two minutes of the final last year
Don't think I will ever forget that feeling!!
I also agree with Gamble, I posted earlier last week that the Albert will go all the way this year.

i agree with all posts and the swan deserved to be there last year and should have won it
but i was just stating last few years you knew soon as the draw was made who the final was
going to be between
ive played in every widnes cup for the last14years,back then there were alot more teams in it and any1 could
win it which made it more exciting in my opinion, you could play your own 2ndteam(which was sometimes better)
and every game there were hundreds watching and the final would always attract atleast 1000-1500
