Great performance and result for the Swan today, certainly moving in the direction at the right time.
Very difficult place to go and get a victory at Heysham and today we missed 5 from7 goals, so the score itself doesn't tell the whole story.
Roll on next week!!

Some good shots there LV.
Seem to spot a few first teamers there, thought the Maries had stacks of players???

If you look at the Widnes St Maries web site you will see that this is exactly the same team and bench that played at Cadishead last week with the exception of Ryan Millington for Kieran McDonnell (unavailable) and Andy Benson (who could not travel to Hull in for the unavailable Chris Barr). We had the first team watching as can be seen in LV's photos and 6 other players plus a host of under 18's who were not selected. I trust that not everyone in Widnes thinks like you as we want to put 2 teams in the Widnes Cup.

Saint - You have totally got the wrong end of stick. All I was trying to ask was if the A team is so strong (in terms of numbers) why did they need 1st teamers playing. Only an observation but you have obviously seen it in a different light.
Also when did I mention the Widnes Cup. If you care to remember, I was big fan this time last year of allowing the Maries A to play in the Widnes Cup. Believe or not I was talking to one of your players last night at a party I said exactly the same thing then.
Obviously hit a raw nerve.

I don't think that I am the only one who got the wrong end of the stick. I was pointing out to your comment that the side fielded was the one selected prior to the first team's game at West Hull being cancelled. Andy Benson was already selected as he was unable to travel to Hull. Winger Kieran McDonnell cried off so we needed a winger. Ryan Millington was drafted in presumably because he can kick conversions (coaches decision not mine). I appreciated yours and especially JB's help last year with the Widnes Cup and my reference to the Widnes Cup was I hoped that people who have the power to decide wether we can enter 2 teams when (if) reading your post don't think we have to prop the NWC side up with NCL players.
