Moorfield v blackpool scorpions

I didnt make it up to blackpool today as i was in work but from what ive been told we were embarrassed,we did have alot of players missing in david lloyd, danny haughton, stu davies, matty farrell, chris freeman, danny teeling and also a few others but we definately had the team to win there today.Sounds like we just expected to go up there and win easy, thats our first loss since september and i dont think in all games since september we have conceded that many tries put together.Absolutely gutted as we got to the final of this cup 2 years ago and the semi final last year and we really wanted to go all the way but blackpool fully deserve to be in the next round and we should take a good look at ourselves because if we can put in a performance like that then we are probably not ready for the prem.
Good luck to blackpool in the next round and all the widnes teams.Absolutely devastated, the only positive we can take from this game is that it wasnt in the league.

Rock - Shame you failed to also note the Swan are now the only Widnes team remaining after a great result today. Similar to Moorfield, the Swan also had a number of players missing.

the really gutting thing is that this was probably our best chance ever, theres only 2 teams left out of division 1,just shows that the gap isnt very big between divisions on their day, especially up and coming teams like blackpool, spring view and woolston, good luck swan,i hope you go all the way.

At this stage of the competition I don't think the divisions mean much at all. Woolston and particularly Spring View are very strong and both Blackpool and ourselves will take some beating. It obviously all depends on the draw, but there is more than a reasonable chance that a team from Div 3 or lower will be in the final.
In last years bowl final, when we played Leigh Central, they still are for my money one of the strongest teams we have ever faced. Just shows that there are some excellent Cup sides in the lower divisions.
From a Swan perspective, the Cup games are bonus games as we never really gave this competition much focus. Obviously now its a different ball game and we are only two games from the final. You never know.

brilliant performance from the swans yesterday dave, you missed a treat.
i dont know if you've already heard or even if you will believe me, try of the game with 2 minutes remaining Syers broke the line about 60 yards out then
OUTPACED
the defence to score, it was a beauty

Still absolutely gutted about saturday,we need to turn it around on satruday.Probably our best chance to ever win a cup that but its gone now and good luck to blackpool. We have some massive players back this week, danny haughton has been absolutely class since his return to us and he must be one of the most powerful players in amateur rugby, ask haydock,it took 5 lads to put him down every time he got the ball.He was awesome. Also lloydy should be back,we are a completely differnet team when he plays.Another who i think is absolutely a class above. And in freeman and stu davies we have 2 of the clubs longest serving players back this week and both are constantly 2 of our best performers.Hopefully we can prove that last week was just a terrible day at the office.
