"Report to Moderator"

Can anyone please tell me why, at the bottom right hand side of all messages I have sent, appears the wording "Report to Moderator, L then a series of letter such as 88.108.182.102 or 88.108.244.94" ?

Such letters don't seem to appear against anyone else's messages, merely "Report to Moderator L"

I am a fairly new contributer and am curious about this.

Those numbers are your IP address, visible to yourself (hence you can't see them on any other persons post), and also visible to the forum administrators (such as me!)

The list of numbers are your ip address.

I would guess the report to moderator button is in case you think somebodys message is offensive and by clicking it, it sends an automated email to the moderators of the message board to review and delete it.

The nubers are different AlanC... mainly because you are using the Telewest Network, whilst Sunny is using the Tiscali Network!!! Grin

Thanks, everyone, for explaining the numbers to me.

Being an oldie who has only just learned how to use an electric toaster I've no idea what an "ip address" is, and probably don't really need to know, but am sure that everyone will be relieved to hear that I am no longer paranoid...
