Anyone know if he has played a game yet or learnt the rules, or does he yet know what the positions are in a team, seems to have gone very quiet after all the fuss. Have Cas actually benefited from the press coverage, do more people turn up thinking they might see him somewhere.

Even if he never plays, or never intended to, it has been a great publicity coup for Cass.
They will, perhaps rightly, claim that it shows that they are forward thinking etc etc thus worthy of keeping their SL place.

What, by signing a drug cheat?

I genuinely hope it totally backfires for 'em!

Spelly your obsession with Mr C, calling him a drugs cheat at every oppertunity makes me think, would you not like to see him take a good hiding, embaress himself, or get injured so that he will never compete in sport again?

Winny - It's not an obsession, it's my opinion, and total disgrace to humanity that Chambers and his fellow low-lifers are, I would not like to see him / them injured physically in any way.

They have used a bottle / needle or summat similar to cheat, and in my eyes, should never again be allowed back into sport! And I consider Ryan Hudson to be in the same mould!

They are born with a talent, that we mere mortals can only dream of, and then abuse this gift they are given! Unforgivable!

In a nutshell Spelly.

Yes some of us agree but can we not have every single thread about him being turned into the same old thing?

I'm pretty certain I read in the League Express that he was learning what a winger has to do, and he didn't want to take on all the rules and ramifications cos he wouldn't be able to absorb them all in one go. (Or along those lines anyway) but that he was on the field everyday in training sessions.
He also said he was very confident in his ability as a winger, because thats where his strength lay, in his speed.

To be fair, a wingers job is fairly minimal in attack.

Catch the ball and run, just dont go over the touchline, and if you get tackled, play the ball.

It's in defence that he has to be careful BUT his experience in training for NFL Europe will help with his kick defence.

I can see your point KV, and even agree with it, just not with him being given this opportunity.

I'm with Spelly on this one.

So do I Spelly, but the unpaletable fact is that he has not been banned from playing RL (wether he should or not is'nt the subject of this thread) and even if he never takes the field for any of their teams Cass certainly have received yards of newspaper publicity out of this.

I say let him play. He's served his time for taking drugs and hopefully learnt his lesson in the process. After all everyone deserves a 2nd chance especially in a sport like athletics were I bet there are many taking drugs but haven't yet been caught.

One thing Mr Chambers will have a big problem with is that ive never heard of a drug that helps you catch a ball let alone catch one with a 17 stone forward running at you . He only manage 3 games of american football when his ban was up and i hear his real problem was a distinct inability to catch the ball .
Let him play he will probably prove to be week in defense bad at playing the ball and responsible for a lot of knock ons . Think he'll turn out to be a godsend to all those playing against him and an embaressment to Cas and there recruitment program .
