NRC is a waste of time, and TBH i wouldn't be botherd about the NL1/2 grand finals if we wern't in them.
Plus this year they don't count for anything.

Its not a waste of time, its a good run out for the lads before the season starts, gets them sorted and organised and this year meant more than most, cos we needed to play together after the hectic off field events. So lets not be over hard on it as a competition Wink

Tell me when they mention the Championship play-offs or Johnstone Paint Trophy when talking about football's big events?

If we were in SL, you wouldnt be bothered about the NRC/NL1/NL2 either.

The NL1 and NL2 finals and the NRC to a lesser extent are meaningfull competions albeit at a lesser level. The events pretty much attract the biggest crowds of the season for games involving non SL clubs and as such serve their own purpose,

When the RU can put on the BaBa's V Tonga nad fill Twickers Millenium Magic looks Mickey Mouse by comparison.

Then until rugby league fans support their 'game' in the way union fans do, I'm not sure we can moan when the BBC and others give union more coverage than they do our game.

but club rugby league gets bigger crowds than club rugby union and as such is the second biggest spectator sport behind soccer. not something our kick and clap 'friends' like to be known

The NL2 GF is now probably more important than the NL1 final. At least the NL2 actually involves promotion and relegation. The NL1 GF means nothing really apart from a bit of pride and a nice payday. After all why play 18 leagues games and maybe 2 or 3 playoff matches and prove yourself the top side only to remain in NL1 at the expense of a franchise team from an area that isn't interested in RL. Yep but I guess its 1 were all going to have to get use to for a very long time. If your not amongst the chosen 14 then gaining SL status maybe just a pipe dream Sad
