I thought it had been stated all along that the RFL Board would decide.  Not sure where this independent panel comes in, or who is on it.  Can anyone enlighten me please ?

Something was said about the panel at last nights PotM, I can remember that there are two independant business people on it, and two from some sort of sport culture, can't for the life of me remember where the other two are from, and I think they make the reccomendation to the rfl.

I have to be totally honest and admit I missed most of what Pat said about it due to some women having a chinwag.

I'm sure someone will post what was actually said.

I am not sure the exact 'nature' of the bids for SL licences, and will stand to be put right - but in a standard tender process the 'preferred bidder', or bidders, are selected by the assessment panel and then those bids are passed to the 'authority' for final approval - which is generally simply a formality of paperwork.

My point is, that if this is the case then there is a slim chance that the final list of preferred bidders may well be known by now and even could be leaked - although it would be very unprofessional and it would be impossible to tell what might be a genuine leak and what might be rumour!

The RFL doesn't have to put CC in SL just so their youngsters, if they are good enough, can play play Super League rugby.
The youngsters can do so by joining a SL club and CC can remain in NL1.

Simple, really.
