To all interested the West Bank Swans will be playing in Div 2 this season that  we have been pushing for since the end of last season.

Dont know the set up of the division or the other division's as yet just had the good news concerning us..

Well done to all to come this far in the last five years.

So this Sunday in the Snig 12-noon for 1-00pm start we are having a poker day to raise funds (50/50 split)for our injured player Phil Briscoe who was injured playing for Runcorn Vikings.

Also we may sink a few on the back of our promotion Roll Eyes

All Wellcome...

If you lads get promoted next year that will be good as you say with 4 Widnes teams in the league but i cant see that happening as you only got promoted this year by the skin of your teath Cool

Fair play Rock. I genuinely believe your lot can do it. It will certainly inspire the Swan lads if you do it. Good luck with your plans !!

Mr X - The Albert are the example that flies in the face of your comment that the Swans don't have a chance because of us winning promotion by the skin our teeth. One year the Albert could hardly win a game and ended up at the bottom end of the league. The next year they won promotion.

i think it will be a bit of a tough season for the swan lads with the combo of promotion to a tougher league an losing players to injury and other teams but hopefully with the good work thats being done setting up the youth structure you lot will be ok i have a lot of respect for what your lot have achieved so far so keep it going

Great news the Swan are promoted. Think everyone presumed they would be, so to have it confirmed is good. They have proved they have the talent to compete at a higher level, whether they can keep it together when the loses start will be the big test. The setting up of a youth team though, which are already starting to come through is the best thing they could have done and puts them ahead of many other teams in the town.
I think they will go great again in Div 2. Whether they can go all the way again we will wait and see!

Widnes now have plenty of teams competing at decent levels rather then Div 5 and 6 which is good to see. The rest seem to get gradually stronger as we try and get to Simmies/Maries levels.

Just on the Albert, The Rock is always very positive on how we will do. We definitely suprised ourselves a bit last year how well we went after promotion, but having played the odd game against Div 1 opposition in the past we are under no illusions that it really gets much quicker from here onwards. If I was estimating at this point I would hope we could manage to go pretty well and cement our standing as a division 1 side. Get some predicitions going in the next few weeks when the fixtures ever come out!

8)well done swans,i know a few of the lads and i would like you to get promotion again but it will be a bit harder this term, also dont want 4 teams from widnes in div one as we at the moorfield are hoping to get back in the prem as i am sure the farnworth are,we at the moorfield have a better sqaud this year and more coaching staff so things are looking good, hope to have a friendly next weekend,we also have our sportsmans evening with arsenal legend paul merson soon, thats my info for now as it is a bit quiet before the season starts, any other teams got some info to get us in the mood for the coming season, cheers

Thanks for the positive comments from all,but we know its going to be a tough season for the Swans in the 2nd Div.
our targets for this season are

1, Survive in the 2nd Div at least is our aim

2, finish mid table would be very good

3, finish in the top 2 we would highly delighted.

To be promoted out of that melting pot of a division which is the 3rd Div as give all the lads a lift and sent a buzz through the club,

if you were to take one or two players from our squad we would be left with a squad with an average ages of around 23,

also with some of the u17s more than willing to help out the open ages team things are looking good for the Swans push on Div 2.

Feet on the ground JB.
