At first I could not see an issue with Friday night games, as I felt sure we would have many games on Thursdays amyway which is worse than a Friday for most workers I would think.

But having read these posts, I do share the concerns over evening games for junior season ticket holders. I only realised this as I will be buying a season ticket for my 4 year old this season, but there is no way I would take him to an evening game for several reasons. These reasons included the fact that night games are colder, children become tired and 'crabby', not to mention that he goes to bed for 7:30 normally! Also of course is the factor that more people drink alcohol at evening games, people get boisterous and children are more at risk of accidental harm.

As such I think that it is a little unfair that the club is selling season tickets before they have told us the fixture list and times of games for next season - after all what is the point in buying a family ticket if the 'family' cannot attend for say 50% of the games?
I think it would be fair for the club to offer some sort of money back for junior season tickets unused for evening games.
I don't think this is an unreasonable request, but any other comments welcomed as I am considering putting this in writing to the club.

Thanks

Steve I share your frustrations with this and in our house it will surely cause some friction as I have introduced my fiancee into RL and is now a season ticket holder and a nipper (age 2) who is rugby mad, Widnes mad, Kemik Mad and even copies the drummers beats at home with his rattles and tambourine! Alas though a thursday night game will mean he cant make it, even extends for any period of time he will lose interest, miussus having to stay at home a loss of 2 season tickets holders.

Hopefully it wont come to this as we all enjoy our rugby and hopefully will do for some time to come together! Hang fire to the fixtures are released and make the decision then, my posts before this may have seemed negative to the idea however my negative perception may have a far greater positive for the club! Look on the bright side no silly drives to Celtic on a thursday night!!!

SOC is putting the money into the Club to keep us full time and he obviously considers that Friday night games will pull in more speccies.  If it turns out that he is wrong then he will obvioulsy change things.

I agree, I'm behind the club with trying new things and although Friday's isn't ideal for me, I'll be trying to re-arrange work etc to ensure I can go. What I do think may help is if the club could come out and be a bit more clear about the arrangements for next season. Is it 9 NL1 games or is 10? Are we waiting on a decision from Toulouse? Will the kick off's be 7.30pm or 8.00 pm? What is the proposed format for the NRC as only 2 games will be included instead of the normal 3.

There might be some people who are waiting for more info to come out before they make their minds up.

Ste O'c answered this at the Fan Forum t'other night.  Even if it is an away tie, it is free admission to the game, not sure how he has sorted this but he claims he has done.  Admitted that it isn't going to be the most glamorous of games but will be free none the less

I think the 1st round of the Challenge Cup that we play in, is always at home against an amateur or division 2 side.
