from my knowledge they lent it, they had a saints kit to lend but didnt like the colour so used the widnes one instead

Many moons ago, I had the honour of playing in a friendly game with Offiahs #5 shirt on my back from the previous season. I would think that amateur clubs ask for the shirts at the end of the season. Simmies also had Widnes's red away kit a while back.

it's probably more to do with mike dennett being chairman of thatto, and also partner at hattons law firm, one of widnes' main sponsors!
