Noel Cleal was known as 'crusher' over here, but does anyone know what his nickname was in Australia?

Noel was the blue print for the modern RL second row, big , powerful and with a turn of pace. The Manly team of the mid 80's pioneered the tactic of the fast second row turning up in the centre positions to break the defensive line with Noel and Ronnie "Rambo" Gibbs smashing three quarter line defenses

Noel and Les Cleal were known as "Precious" and "Blossom" down under

Just as an aside, while Noel played brilliantly for us during his stint here, Les a was absolutely rubbish. A very lazy player.

Rubbish was a euphemism! Noel was good, but a blueprint for the modern second row? George Van Rooyen was a real blueprint!
