Well I never knew that David signed for Leeds, Seriously.

 Shocked

Your shocked about that, i didnt even know he ever signed for another club, altought i only remember from around 96ish or something like that

Yeah, he signed for Leeds in the 1996 season and played 8 games with 1 sub app, scoring 2 tries. He then signed for Salford the following season, returning to Widnes for the 2000 & 2001 seasons.

I seem to recall both David & Paul became free agents after the club failed to keep up with paying their contracted salary... or something along those lines.

Incidently, Paul signed for Warrington in the 1996 season before playing for Swinton and finishing his playing career at Widnes in 1999

To be fair Peter I was only refering to the ones I had seen.

In reality there are probably in excess of 100 Widnes lads who only played for one club and played for a number of years.

The ones I picked were a combination of legnth of career, percentage of career at Widnes and acheivement.

Agreed. If we could field a team of former Widnes players for every decade we would beat anyone!

I have compiled lists of all player appearances (not updated it for a few years now) upto the year 2000 there were over 170 players to make more than 100 appearances in a Widnes shirt and the vast majority would be Widnes lads.

A quick scan of the list to pick out a few names that should be in the top 20 or so of this catagory....

George Kemmel
Harry Millington
Billy Reid
Tommy Higgins
Ged Lowe
Mike O'Neil- played at Leeds & Rochdale at least when he would still have got in the Widnes side so probably disqualifies him on the criteria we are using
Tommy McCue
Jimmy Hoey
Tommy Shannon
Alec Higgins

All 300 games plus and 1 club as far as I am aware (Other than when we shut down for the War when Shannon and  a few others went of to the likes of Halifax)

Pops reckons if you earned a testimonial, then you should be in the hall of fame automatically.
Can anybody list players testimonial years? Ray Dutton was season 1976-77

I knew he went Salford and knew where Paul went too, Never in a million years would I have guessed he actually played for Leeds though. Cheers Chris  Wink
