The current mayor(ess) is terrible, i heard her doing a speech once at a presentation awards night and she was awful, clearly reading from something that was pre-written for her & she showed no emotion whatsoever!!

I'm not sure why she would come out with such a comment at this event!  Celebrating Hero awards through Wire FM & she gets up and spouts what is clearly her personal view and not that of the board of members of the council......  Surely her personal views should be kept just that !!

What difference does the name of the stadium make, it is owned by HBC, run and managed by HBC but do a room full of people at an awards night care or need to know that !!

IMHO,Widnes SHOULD sever ALL ties with Runcorn & Cheshire.

Does that mean severing the ties with all the Widnes fans from Runcorn who cross the bridge to support the team.
(Plus use the Market, Town Centre, Swimming Pool, Library, Parks etc).
All these facilities are jointly used / paid for by people on both sides.
Split us up and neither is big enough to survive on their own as a unitary authority as we are the smallest unitary authority in the country anyhow.
I'm sure you'd be happy either to be confirmed as either a part of Greater Merseyside or Greater Warrington.

I don't think the Major who happens to be from Runcorn is very bright to appear to be upsetting the Stadium Sponsors.
If she doesn't want to enter into the spirit another councillor should step in for her.

You wonder why Widnes gets a raw deal with everything....well, theres your answer!!! Angry

I won't start a slanging match off, 'cos we're all Vikings fans first and foremost, but if you think Widnes get the spanglesy end of the stick you're insane.......   Roll Eyes   Wink
