Just a thought I've had regarding the fixtures.

I watch ice hockey on a regular basis, and they are quite good when it comes to ticketing initiatives.

One is a "flexi-game" ticket, where you pay for a 10 game ticket, and you are able to choose the 10 games you go to (there's approx 30 home games in a season).

Owing to our fixture list, with games on Thurs, Fri, Sat and even Sunday during the season, could the club do with something like this? Say something that people can pay for 5/6/7 games up front at a discounted rate and choose the games they want to go?

There's probably a few people who will end up going 50%+ of the games, but dont want to buy a season ticket coz they cant make a certain night e.g. friday.

Thoughts?

Wont work, cause the club want you to buy a season ticket and arent bothered if you manage to attend all of the games.

They want the "money" up front.

Nice thought, wont happen.

I think it is a good idea. Any idea that gets people to commit money upfront is always a good idea.

Not sure you have grasped the idea pierce7, you would still have to pay upfront but it would cover any 7 games from 14 for instance and you make a saving of say £1 a game. The club get your money upfront and you the fan can make a little saving (always better in your pocket).

I think it is a good idea, as a season ticket this season is putting me off due to the week day games and other committments but if you could do that then great that would work for me. Wink

I made the suggestion to the club over 12 months ago. I got an email back from Pat Cluskey saying that the idea has been discussed in the past but never put into practice. He also said they would look at it again at the last board meeting.

I still have the e-mail dated 9/10/07. I think if enough people pressed the club on the issue then they would be more inclined to look at it further.

The drawback I can see is, should you be in the South Stand, what happens to your numbered seat when you don't attend?

The club can't sell it on in case you turn up.

There could be a stipulation that the ticket holder had to let the Club know a given time before a specified match whethr they would be attending.

If we have 2000 season ticket holders and the capacity is 14000. can't see that being a real problem.

They could make this type of ticket north stand only, with any overflow then being moved to unallocated seats in the south stand.

Or they could just make it unreserved.

And like Stevie says, not as if it's packed out anyway.

Yes I would be interested as I have not got a season ticket this year or last due to missing around 6 matches due to holidays and I am no longer in a position to pay knowing I will miss so many games.  It did not stop me travelling to Dewsbury, Whitehaven ,Blackpool etc. I am sure there are others like me for whom an 8 match flexiticket may appeal more. So ther eshould be an offer if it is taken up of 6 8 or 10 games at varying prices. The club could then get the money in up front.
