If it's the Widnes lads you're after, I assume you mean 1975 and 1983.

Don't know for sure who actually played but these were the teams in the programmes :

Paul Newall
Ian Morley
Paul McDowell
Michael Buck
Michael Martin
Paul Shannon
David Ruane
Paul Brassington
Brian Clark

1983

Andrew Conlon
Michael Stubbs
Neil Mullarkey
Iain Sutton
John Holland
Christopher Smart
Robert Goulding
Mark Leah
Andrew Birchall
Terence O'Connor
Stuart Krenz
Julian Fowler
Anthony Fenlon
Paul Pickering
Dominic Smith

Reserves : Christopher Nevinson, Bernard Conway, Edward Connor

Seems quite likely but I dunno for sure.  The one in the under-11s in 1983 went to St Bede's.

Incidentally, there was a certain Joseph Lydon in the opposition Wigan U-11s in 1975.

I was at St. Mikes Juniors with some of the above. The Widnes Town Team trained at the school and were coached by Peter Farrell. I was only good enough to play a few times for the school team, mainly as sub.

I think both of those were a year above me at Ditton County Primary, and subsequently Wade Deacon

Great players and great lads, Galloway was the best schoolboy player i'd seen, and thats saying something looking at those names, till i went to Fisher-More and played alongside Andy Currier in the school team, Galloway was so quick, but Currier won games on his own with his sheer size and strength, plus he was pretty quick aswell.
Peter Farrell, what a great teacher he was, St Mikes was a great school for Sport around that time.

Didn't a widnes team play in the 1990 final? Possibly 1989? Vague memories of a few of my classmates going down? Anybody got a line up for that?

It was 1990, Danny Myler played in that team alongside Paul Riley who now plays for the Army RL team. Don't have the full team though also think Reg Bowdens lad played aswell
