Wow Corporal, some opening post/rant Cheesy!

I would find it hard to disagree with any of that. I am with you. I don't trust any of the self serving egotists. I am a labour man at heart and feel proud never to have voted Tory or New Labour as I feel there is scant difference.
I believe that most career politicians start out with an idealistic point of view but when the parties get their teeth into them they then become controlled and made to toe the party line and much of their good intention is lost to brainwashing in a big brother manner.

Party whips - bullies - if you don't toe the line you will be ostracised.

Democracy my word.

i left widnes three years ago to live in the scottish wilderness , went without a phone for twelve months and love every minute of it ,only just got the internet to contact son soon to be deployed to afghanistan , only things  i miss is widnes vikings and pauls fish  Cheesy

I've said it before on this forum, and I'm going to say it again....

We should all have to register a vote in a General Election, HOWEVER we should also have the option "None of the Above"; maybe then the political parties will see just what the average person in this country really thinks of them.

I have said this for years. Voting should be compulsory, but a "none of the above" is not necessary as a blank ballot form would suffice.
