Thanks for the effort Steve and good luck for the future.

Thinking a man isn't good enough to be the Widnes coach and wanting them to do well in life and in no way a contradiction.

The person who is good enough is the person who will get us to the top of this league which with our resources should be straight forward. I think it was clear after Oldham that that man wasn't going to be Steve.

Already done this on another thread, but thanks Steve. You did your best and got us out of a hole when we came out of CVA and needed a coach pronto.

I'm sure he'll have a job soon, but it wasn't to be Widnes.

I have already posted thanks to SMc, but I suddenly read the post heading and thought that we should also be grateful that our Chairman has taken such a step at this time of the season.

It is fair to say that had he left it until a few games later then the damage may have been unrepairable, perhaps?
On the same point at least a new coach has a near full season to perform.

Obviously means business this year!

I can't deny that I am delighted we are to get a new coach, and that I'm more enthused about the club than I have been for a long time, but I have to say that the dignity Steve has shown since his dismissal has been awesome and a real credit to the man. He has not resorted to recriminations and moaning, but conducted his interviews calmly, and has even praised the club and Steve O'Connor.

I wish him well and I'm sure he'll get another coaching role before long. I would be more than happy to see him back at the club in any job other than head coach.

Just want to say thanks to Steve McC for all the effort and commitment he has put in to this club over the last three+ years.  It's a shame it hasn't worked out, and I do feel it's time for a change, but I do have some sympathy for him, and I wish him all the best for the future.

Yes thanks, a decent bloke who just missed out with Widnes. Maybe his turn will come but not against us please!

Thanks for the past few years Steve - especially the NRC in 2007.

Best wishes.
