Please, not Cullen or Woods. Cullen couldn't hack it with the Wire and all their money and he would have to go back to school to learn to speak English. I would think that O'Connor would have more sense than to bring Woods in with the baggage he is carrying. I don't know enough about the other two but I would hope he realises that we ned to go forward not backward.

What is the baggage that he is carrying?

Out of that list my personal ranking of the candidates would be
1. Monie 2. Cullen 3. Deakin 4. Woods
I'm quite pleased we seem to be moving swiftly to get the right man in ASAP..

Ice Man has been out the British game far too long, 2000 he was last at London. Plus he is 61, I hardly see that as a long term strategy.

I suspect that John Monie is in retirement mode by now - nothing to prove etc. Don't forget that Webster made a pretty good job of coaching Hull KR before they signed Morgan who then sacked him!
We need someone who has a point to prove and the energy to inject his desire into the players. He may not be a 'nice bloke', but will make people take notice. I can't say that any of the main contenders fill me with confidence.
IMHO it may well take a season to sort this out properly - which will be too late.

Can't seet it happening with Monie.Him and Terry never hit it off at Wigan, especially after TOC made a remark about his height and then found himself out of the team and almost signing for Bradford.

We might be reading too much into the first post of names anyway, Paul D did say "according to the papers", normally wide of the mark when it comes down to rugby league and "initial candidates", basically they have just picked 4 out of work coaches. None of which would fill me with optimism. Dave woods seems a good coach, but why has he been sacked twice when he has won something???

Out of those 4 I think it has to be Cullen but he will not go down well with the fans.
Monie has had his day,
Deakin??--why??
Woods has the credentials after promoting 2 teams but I feel distinctly uneasy that he has been sacked by both of those clubs--there has to be some baggage.

I have also heard that Cullen has been approached by the club. I really do hope we don't go down this road.
