I do think we all need a reality check, no top notch coach in employment will drop everything and come to us and lets face it we are condemned to nl1 for at least 3 years, whover is chosen it will be the wrong person for somebody .

IMO he won't do a good job. He has reportedly doesn't like Widnes, he had plenty of stars (better than at Widnes) at Wire and was unable to get them to play as a team and win regularly. Therefore I see no reason why he would be able to get a less quality group of players to perform as a team and entertain us whilst winning. We don't want to be entertained for 20-30mins then throw games away like wire fans. We want to play good quality rugby and win in style, yes we will find it hard at times all teams do but we should be a lot better than most teams most of the time.

Oh yeah and he always seemed to have problems off the field too at warrington too.

He could probably do a job for us in this league, maybe get us out of it but he didn't set the world on fire in SL,trouble is there doesn't seem to a lot of choice out there.

This is pure 'Wire-ism' like the Alex Murphy syndrome but 30-odd years on! Cullen if selected couldn't possibly do a less effective job in firing up our guys than our departed coach. That's all they're lacking, and he'll put that fire in their belly.

IMO maybe he is looking for an opportunity to therefore salvage his reputation, knowing that the above was fairly publicly recorded and that he was pilloried for it.

It isn't down to us, it is down to SOC and his team.

Whoever they bring in, give them your support.

We need our lads to respond to them in a highly positive manner to get points on the board week in week out and get us where we want to be, and if we show our support to our new coach, it will transfer to them.

Please lets be positive, lets let SOC sort it out and lets get there in our numbers and really encourage our lads to be match winners!

Im undecided on Mr Cullen, as I have said in another thread he has reportedly had problems at Warrington that he couldnt sort, but this has never been confirmed.  Maybe as he had such a long association with Warrington he was seen as the saviour and year by year it wasnt working out, this couild well have an effect on him mentally.

IF he did get the job here, or for that matter who ever gets the job, then lets give the bloke all the support we can otherwise he is destined to fail before he starts!!  We've seen whats happened in the past when we have crucified players and it has knocked their confidence.

Cullen would be under more pressure than most though.

It's ike Gary Neville being lined up for the Liverpool job.

But lets be honest he would only be under so much pressure because of us, the fans!

I cannot believe we are linked with Cullen.

If he was a top coach with a great history of winning trophies, you could maybe forget the Wire background, but my god, he isnt and he is everything that epitomises Warrington.

PLEASE NOT CULLEN.

GO to Aus and ask for applications, select someone with a good reserve grade background for winning games with attractive Rugby; its not rocket science.

ONCE AGAIN THOUGH, please do not get CULLEN.

I really hope it isnt Cullen, it will be Ste Mac all over again.  He didnt have the respect of the Wire players while he was there and he coaching was of amature standard.  This would be a step backwards for the club and our chances of Super League.

He is a Wire lad and hates Widnes.

It's just like me having all the experience necessary to become the Wire coach. My heart wouldn't be in it. Like I say, liken Gary Neville being Liverpool manager!
