I would have to agree with a few others here , it is highly improbable that any club is thrown out of super league before the three year license term is up . It would not be in the interests of the RFL or any of those who made the final decisions as to who would be in super league for the next 3 years for any of those teams selected to be shown to be incapable of operating a sound business structure . Therefore they will undoubtedly work along side whoever is in serious difficulty to ensure there survival in the top flight to save the embaressment that would go with anyone having to leave the division , something I hasten to piont out they would never do for any club outside of super league .
My personal opinion would be that if someone was truly in such a dire situation it would look much better if the RFL would show a bit of back bone for once and admit someone else into super league as a replacement . And then help the club in trouble out as they do every club outside of super league usualy , deduct them nine pionts mess them around for a couple of months then kick them in the teeth .

There is no way on this earth any SL club will be allowed to fail or leave the comp until the licences are up for grabs. Richard Lewis will not lose face over the RL's decision to award the franchises, and I am sure loans etc would be give on the q/t if needed by clubs. It's all about not looking silly.

This is exactly the point.  A number of the clubs in SL are heavily in debt either through bank overdrafts or loans from individuals.  Like so many businesses at the moment they are insolvent without that ongoing debt facility - if it is pulled then they can't continue to operate unless they can get funding from elsewhere.  I don't know enough about the specific balance sheets of all the clubs in SL but my gut feel is that at least one will be forced into administration in the next 12 months.  Watch this space...

The RFL will choose who to help, but if they help one too much will other SL clubs object if a bigger share of SKY money is heading in one direction?

As often happens with these dubious set-ups, some may say crooked, I'm talking about "Super League" as well as the RFL, after shafting everyone else outside of the clique they end up turning on each other.  Things are bound to turn sour at some point, let's hope it doesn't ruin the reputation of the game too much.

 Shocked

That's a big couch.

This is my point though NeilW, how can the banks arrange a loan structure every couple of years when the clubs are posting continually losses? Robbing Peter to pay Paul. (Sorry Peter).

Is this the same RFL that said the SL selection process would be fair and transparent? then there's your answer.

One of the SL clubs wont make it past the end of this season due to financial problems. The decision will be made after the NRC final as to who will take their place. Whoever wins that final will be the only team eligable to apply. Thats why winning the NRC is the most important thing this season and why SOC moved so quickly to axe SM. Just a theory.

Chelsea are in a comparable situation, re reported financial losses. Doesn't mean they're going to become insolvent or kicked out of the Premier League. Unfortunately.
In the very unlikely event that's there's any truth to this extremely unsubstantiated rumour, I'm guessing it's more likely to be Wakefield or Castleford.

Very unlikely I'm afraid.
Even if true, there would be no guarantee WRLFC would get the nod anyway........rememeber we went through administration.

Looks like Leigh then to me. Grin
