BLACKPOOL PANTHERS v WIDNES VIKINGS
Panthers coach Martin Crompton is set to make considerable changes to his line-up after last week’s 28-26 defeat at Rochdale.
Crompton said: “That was the worst performance we’ve put in this year, including all the pre-season friendlies. I was very disappointed and there’ll be a lot of changes against Widnes.
“It’s an opportunity for myself to send a message about what’s not acceptable. At the same time, I’ve also got six or seven players who haven’t had a game yet.
“The players know I’m a fair chap and it’s only right that other guys are given an opportunity.”
Widnes caretaker John Stankevitch has been dealt a major blow after Iain Morrison was forced to undergo surgery on a shin problem. He is facing anywhere between six weeks and four months on the sidelines.
However, Dean Gaskell is ready for selection following a recent ankle injury.
Stankevitch said: “We were pleased with last week’s performance but there’s still a lot to work on.
“Blackpool have got a lot of Widnes connections, either through guys who played here or others that live in the town, and we know it will be a tough encounter.”

Those comments from crompton seem to say it all after reading the panthers msgbrd on RLFANS, the players must have made the mistake of thinking it was goin to be easy win at hornets or something, bet they are sorry now lol also kinda backs up what LV was saying in a different topic ;-)
