Warrington are set to announce some changes to their backroom staff tomorrow, rumours are they are bringing in a mentor for James Lowes, and it could be Ellery Hanley or Tony Smith.

They've been after Tony Smith for over 12 months, and after the World Cup disaster, Smith should snatch their hands off.

I actually think he would do a very good job at Warrington, very strict with his players off the field which I think Warrington need.

I just think that it is adding another tier to a desperate Warrington set-up.

Have they given up already for 2011 title hopes? 2 1/2yr deal will only take him upto Start of September 2011 so must not have plans to be in the playoffs that year. Ha! Ha!  Grin Roll Eyes

Clever move that by the wire, to save Lowes being hung out to dry after another tonking v Leeds, one name off the guessing game list, i suppose.

Am I being cynical? Perhaps? Am I being logical? Perhaps? But...................

Is Warrington's retaining of Lowes' services, just purely financial? Because................

By appointing someone over his head (I reckon) they're admitting that (they think / know) he can't do the job. But..............

If they sack him, they'll have to pay up his contract. So.............

Are they hoping he'll walk away?

Cynical? Logical? Summat else? You tell me mes amis!

Warrington board probably have a wad of money on Noble to be first SL coach to be sacked in 2009 at 8/1. So woul dbe daft to sack him if they want to win their bets.  Grin Wink

Noble now fav to go first at 3/1, lowes out to 7/2.
