Listening to Tony Smith on GMR on the way home, it has made me really confused about the Director of Rugby role - he talks about it being his responsibility to get the team ready, to "coach" and ensure that they deliver to his standards, and that he will be hands on as well as ensuring his coaching staff and senior players know exactly what is expected of them. He said he will assist Lowes who is 1st team coach, and Lowes will assist him. When asked who will do the half time team talks - he said "me".
Is it the same at other clubs, doesn't appear to be with us - not even sure it is the same at Football clubs, but sounds like a great plan to me

Well its been talked about for the last few months all over warrington that smith was coming . It has been one of the worst kept secrets in the game that when this season was over lowes was going to be replaced by smith when smiths stint incharge of england was over . The recent results appear to have forced a temporary measure on both warrington and smiths part to find a way of sealing up the cracks that lowes inexperience brought about . It is also interesting to note that many in warrington believe lowes got the job the same way cullen did before him , the old boys club , but even the dire faithful realise that this just hasnt worked for them and its time to move on .
