No Stevie, joiners or chippies, dependent upon which part of the country you did your 6 year apprenticeship, fit door handles, lol

Didn't have access to my computer, so turned up at Pencoed at 12-50 to find the game moved, but no-one could tell me where.

Very disappointed! Angry Angry

In my opinion on watching the home games every player seemed to do there part and there is a good atmosphere within the squad.
I think  I know one which you may be relating to (prop forward) he has played awesome, but like i said previous they have worked as a team, i think they have won 2 from 3 and hopefully they will win this Sunday??? making it 3 from 4 not bad eh!

good luck Widnes (some future star players being nurtured here)....

The contracted players who signed prior to the foundation games ( 6 as of yet...Brown, Atkin, Doolan, Naughton, Hughes & Lawton) join the U 18's squad. A few of thse have already played for the 18's on the weeks when there where no foundation games and done well. In fact the victory over a good Warrington side came with four of the U16's playing so it bodes well especially as the 18's havent had the best of results of late.

Of the rest, the club offers contracts to those who it feels are at the required standard to compete having been assessed during the foundation games and they too join the 18's squad.

Inevitably some of the squad will return to their amateur clubs no doubt with the promise of still being watched by club scouts and brought back into the fold should their performances merit it.

Foundation is essentially a platform on which to gauge players at U16's level against similar standard players. Some clubs dont like it and just get players signed on contracts to go straight into 18's.

No idea what happens to foundation next year with the RFL bumping the age up to 17 when a player is signed from their amateur clubs.

Well done Widnes great result, I believe it was a hard fought game and to play in that heat and come away with the spoils against a big strong Hull KR side I take my hat off to you all....

goodluck to the signed players as they join the under 18's academy
look forward to seeing you play at heath rd
