Calling all our Amateur players and fans; Trust in Widnes have dragged me out of retirement to run another prediction competition, but unlike the World Cup competition, this one is just for the members of our Amateur commumity, and will offer up a £50 cash prize to be given to the Amateur club that is nominated by the winner.

Forthcoming Widnes Cup fixtures will appear on here in advance of the game day, all you need to do is try and predict the final scores.

For instance the first two games wil be played this week on Tuesday and Wednesday; so before game one kicks off (6.30pm Tuesday) all you need to do is post your scoreline predictions for both games on this thread.

The scores will be totalled up as the competition progresses, and after the final on Monday 4th May the overall winner will net £50 for their club

The scoring system is nice and simple:

Predict the right match winner   ---   10 points
Predict the right number of points for a team   ---   20 points
Predict the result exactly right, i.e. a correct winner and two correct team scores, and I'll add a bonus 20 pts as well   ---   70 points

Everyone that gives their predictions is automatically entered, and this is open to everyone registered on the messageboard (so even if you don't have a team of your own, you could make yourself very popular by having £50 to hand over to someone on the 4th May)  Grin

So here we go, the first two games to have a go at predicting are:

GAME 1:  Widnes Moorfield  v  Widnes St Maries (NWC Side)   -   k.o 6.30pm, Tuesday 7th April @ Albert Park
GAME 2:  Widnes St Maries (NCL Side)  v  West Bank Bears   -   k.o 6.30pm, Wednesday 8th April @ Simms Cross

Simply post your predictions like this:

Game 1    56 - 52
Game 2     2 - 0

(please predict your scores against the teams in the order they are written as that is how they will be entered on the score sheet)

Best of luck to everyone  Smiley Smiley Smiley

Great idea by the TiW team and brilliant gesture to offer up a prize of £50 to go to an amateur club of the winners choice. Again showing how Trust in Widnes can support and benefit the many clubs in the area whilst also promoting some fun.

Hope everyone who has took part in the season long amateur tipping comp takes part and indeed lots of other messageboard users too.

My tips for the first 2 games are:

Game 1: 24 - 10
Game 2: 54 - 6
