Have we forgotten Derek Conway?

Have we forgotten the MP for Eton who not only claimed for his second home which was in Eton, but also claimed the mileage home every night. The basis of both claims was that his house in Eton was 31 miles away and so could be classed as outside the London area, and his claim for mileage was based on the fact that if he took some short cuts it was only 29 miles away.

While I do not condone the fiddles that go on, I do believe the the present rash of exposes is due to the Media digging around as they always do just prior to an election. I also do believe that there are more crooks in the Tory circles than there are in Labour or Lib Dem circles.

Then we have those with second jobs. Edward Heath, for instance, did not survive on and MP's Salary. He was a consultant getting £250k a year.

My MP is also a consultant and also Chairman of the Family Trust Funds [we call them tax avoidance schemes].

My previous MP, a Knight of the Realm, was advised not to move to an expensive private estate across the road from where I live, because the cost of the property he was buying would become known. So he had to rough in on his converted farmhouse outside the constituency [by a couple of miles] which did not count as a second home because it was outside his constuency.

I know where all the bodies are buried. I buried some myself.

Derek Conway was sacked as a Conservative MP and from the Conservative Party by David Cameron.
Gordon Brown appears too weak and ineffectual to take any action whatsoever against Jacqui Smith, Tony McNulty any of his Front Bench Team or any of his MP's.
I have no idea whether their are more crooks in the Tory Circles or Labour or Lib Dem Circles and you can have no idea either.
Given that their are more Labour MP's than Tory MP's and that they are all appear up to the same tricks the law of averages are against you.
Given that Gordon Brown is Prime Minister he is in the best position to take a lead and to try to sort out this mess. Gordon Brown probably couldn't lead me to the Pub and that's not a difficult one believe me.
Their will not be an election until 2010 your election theory is a Red Herring. I hate to think what else will come out when every MP's expenses are releases in June.

Why was Derek Conway sacked?

None of the Front Bench Team are breaking Rules.

On Crooks, more Tory MPs have done porridge than Labour.

Gordon Brown will bring this country out of recession.

Surely you cannot defend the expenses which Jacqui Smith and Tony McNulty have been claiming.
Tony McNulty is claiming for a second home in which his parents live.
Jacqui Smith claimed over £150,000 Tax Free Last Year.
It's indefensible.
The recession will last into 2010 if Gordon Brown does bring us out of recession he will have had to have won an election.

I did ask why Derek Conway was sacked!

I do not condone dodgy claims for expenses, and when I was in a more influential position than just being retired I had the guts to speak out in a forthright manner against the expense culture in just more than Parliament.
