--------------- of the League, Swinton, top of the League!  Cheesy

Yes, we sit proudly at the head of the table, with a P4, W4 record!  Cheesy

Lions 42-28 Worky yesterday, and I'll be the first to admit, it wasn't without its hiccups!

12-0 down early doors, the position looked far from rosy, but we got our game in order, without ever really killing the Cumbrians off, who returned home without the bonus point they desrved.

Ex-Viking, Phil Wood was absent due to injury, and it was his his replacement, Alex McClurg, along with Graham Holroyd, who were the stars of the show.  Cheesy

We've no game now until Sunday week, when we're at Oldham, then seven days later, Dewsbury are our visitors.

Those two matches should go a long way as to establishing what our promotion credentials are, and these two teams clash at Boundary Park on Sunday, so I reckon a spying mission by yours truly, will not go amiss!

Spelly.

Hope you carry it on throughout the season Spelly. The two sides who started well last year in NL2 ended up getting promoted, so hopefully it's a lucky omen Wink

Oh yes, I said it wasn't without its hiccups, and one of their tries came from...............

A scrum on our line, that was our feed, but they managed to heel the ball!  Embarrassed

I bet I don't see another all season!

Spelly

Do you think a prolonged run at the top will tempt any more fans along to watch?  Maybe the club might persuade the Kelner brothers to give you a bit of PR and get back on the terraces themselves (unless of course they still attend anyway).

I always find it sad when a club with such rich traditions loses its fan base, particularly when it then plays its rugby "out of town". My geography of Greater Manchester is not so great so I am not sure how close Sedgely Park is to your old catchment area.  We are more fortunate in a traditional rugby town without too many alternative attractions.

Anyway great to have a played 4 won 4 record! Success breeds confidence so all the best.

It wouldn't bring a lot back, as people have got out of the habit of coming.

If we got to NL1 (or whatevewr it's called this time) the away followings would be greater, so we'd generate a few more bob that way.

Distance-wise, it's about 5 miles from Station Road, where we now play

Look forward to it mate!

Not by name, but if he's a fan, I'm sure I'll know his face!

Good stuff Spelly. I'm really pleased for Swinton - one of the great names of Rugby League.

It just proves that with the right people in charge, there is always hope for a better future even when times are not so good.

A bit of encouragement for Widnes, is that!!!
