spanglese, either team would get smashed by Simmies anyway, as the big fella from West Bank correctly pointed out to the carbage playing bench/prop for Maries

on 2nites performance yes they would, but they haven't been promoted to the highest amateur ranking league there is for nothing?

Congratulations to St Maries, you won fair and square in the end. The Swans let themselves down at times both with discipline and taking the wrong option at absolutely crucial times. Having said that, the speed, fitness and interchanges the Maries played with was always going to be difficult to cope with. We had a couple of young lads who where superb tonight and contributed to the Maries only being "Average".

Considering all the negative publicity we have received this season, I think the Swans have come out of this years WC with their heads held high and I am made up for Brad and Jim in that we have finished a tricky year with our heads held high.

Time for a long hard rest now !! Good luck to the Maries in the final.

Well done to the Swans on a gallant effort tonight, they really took the game to the Maries in the first half, but just come up short in the second half, the Maries didnt play as well as they can but go through...an interview with Will Tilleke after the game will be broadcast on this Fridays Sports Show on HCR 92.3fm between 7pm and 8pm.....Simmies v Albert Park looking forward to that game already, to see who meets the Maries in the final.....

Really enjoyed playing in the game last night. It had everything, errors, guts, grit, skill, speed and determination.  Obviously disappointed that, at 10-10 at HT we didn't manage to build on a good 1st half, but all the lads in black and White can hold their heads high after last season.
Maries were made to fight all the way, and credit to them, they pulled off some good set plays when it mattered.
As I say, great game to play in. IMO best for the maries was young Prescott, closely followed by miffa? Never seen this lad before but he knows where the try line is.
I'm now looking forward to the last two games of this years cup. Good luck to all involved!

Good post Patto. Totally agree, much better to play in them sort of games than against Langworthy away!!!

No one expected us to hold on for so long, and if you look at where we were at the start of the season, to finish in the manner we have is great and just shows how influential Brad has been in keeping the lads together.

We said it last night but on behalf of the Maries well done the Swan.
It was a sign of respect that we put out as strong a team as possible.
You certainly can hold your heads up around the town.

Well done the Swans played well 1st half and created opportunities in the 2nd but failing to capitalise taking wrong options when the gaps were there!

Has been said somewhere that that was the Maries best side? Hope so!!!  Grin  Shocked  Roll Eyes  Cool

that is more or less the best side kav!!! birdseye is band welshy is injured as is glynn, gilly , matty and ditchy and flanny working away!!!

as far as the game went Swans played really well, Maries didn't look have the team they normally are, there was no fire and agression!

wen the big lad from the swan knee'd Sean Dourley, no one from the Maries did a thing- if i was still playing i'd of fukin levelled the kit-kat!! ( and then been banned for the final ) Cheesy
