Academy at the Jungle tonight
The Vikings' Academy side travel to Castleford tonight looking to get their first win of the season in the Gillette Academy.
Following impressive performances against St Helens and Wigan, Head Coach Stuart Wilkinson will be hoping for third time lucky for his charges.
The Widnes line up is; Scott, Crompton, Anderton, Middlehurst, Oswald; Carney, Hulme; Mullally, Lunt, Bury, Smith, Kelly, Walsh. Subs: Gore, Banks, Gerrard, Stokes.

Mullally playing 18's?
I'm assuming the plan is to let him dominate the opposition at both the under 18s level and under 21s level before 'graduating' to 1st team.
Great idea!

Anthony Mullally is a youngster more so given the position he plays. The coaching staff will act in his best interests.

Sorry, reading my own message back, there seems to be a sarcastic sense to it. This is not intended. I GENUINELY believe it to be the best way forward.

Im not sure it is. 12 of the 17 played games last year.
We do this every year whereby the team changes for the first few weeks whilst the coaching staff try to settle on a first choice squad.

I think it's more the case that there is no reserves game this week.
The fact that he is still eligible to drop back down to 18's and get game time is a bonus.
