Even with Bobbie Goulding prompting at half back the Maries were well beaten in the end, by a Simmies team who did the damage in the first half, another trophy for Simmies and well deserved, and well done to Bobbie congratulating every member of the Simmies coaching staff when he was substituted near the end, a special mention to Kav, he did walk the walk ,as was said on another thread, and had a great game, but today belonged to the McDermott brothers, Sean MOM in the final, and Ste, POY for 2008/9 in the Widnes ARL awards following the final......Very well deserved.

Finally very well done to EVERYONE in the ground today, a superbly obeserved mins silence for Tony Hannon, take a bow the ARL family in Widnes you were a credit to yourselves.

Congratulations to Simmies. Very well deserved again proving they are the top team in Widnes.
They never hit the same heights in the 2nd half and Maries gave them more of a game but as was said they did all the damage in the 1st half.

I actually thought the Maries number 8 was the MOM though as the amount of drives and good quality ones he did was amazing!

Why was Bobbie Goulding playing for the Maries today?Huh??

Didn't play any earlier round games, has he played for Maries in any other games this season?!?

He wasn't out there scouting for players with French relatives was he  Wink

It's all very odd, the French international coach donning the boots to play in a teams amateur cup final  Huh

That is out of order. He was probbaly only trying to help out his mates and the club that he loves.

BG has nothing to prove.
Yes he was asked last Friday as we had no half backs and he readily made him self available.
