Just fiddling round on Wikipedia after looking up Iain Morrison and found this on Kevin Penny....

Unfortuanatley due to his poor defence he has moved to Championship under-achievers Widnes to try and ressurect his career

Grrrr, the truth hurts when it is written by somebody else!!  Although at 3rd in the table he choses his words carelessly I think!!

I hope that Penny helps us to help him to eat his words!!!   Cheesy

Conversely, on wiki..........

Widnes Vikings unveiled Paul Cullen as Head Coach on a 2 year deal on 9th March 2009. Speaking from the heart Cullen said on his appointment "I'm really excited to be joining Widnes. The plan is simple, we need to get Widnes into Super League where we belong"

Bitter bounties that shower are!

Can't argue with the description of under-achievers. We are serial under-achievers, otherwise we wouldn't have lost to Leigh twice, Barrow twice, Halifax twice and Whitehaven.

And TWO Grand Finals which would have seen us promoted to the top division of the Rugby League.

I refuse to call it "Super League", so many other sports use it that it means nothing and doesn't even say What sport it is refering to.

So do you refuse to call the Football Premier League the Premier league? Because it's used in many other sports?

Likewise, do you refuse to call our league the Championship?

I'm not keen on it because it just sounds a bit camp. Did Dale Winton choose the name?

It's the First Division and the Rovers play in the Thiird Division, not League One Wink

Sky don't even call our league the Championship - it's still down as National League on their schedules Roll Eyes

Worryingly, only 39,000 watched the Haven v Widnes match - contrast that with 149,000 watching darts at the same time! Mind you, I think the cricket was on that day which might have impacted.

In Sky's book Rugby League doesn't exist - they bought it and re-named it Super League.

You could amend the entry in Wikipedia if you wished.
