Blows peoples theories about the club maybe not needing a Assistant Coach out of the water.
It doesn't take long does it.
I wonder what will happen next? Statement from within the club that Stuart Wilkinson is to be groomed as the next Widnes Vikings Head Coach?
PC mustn't see him as a threat.

coachkev50, you said something similar this week about PC seeing JS being a threat, I'm not sure how you come to that conclusion. PC and JS were part of the coaching team at Widnes and as such would be deemed to be good coaches if Widnes were successful, if Widnes failed I couldn't see them sacking PC and promoting JS to head coach as he would have been part of the unsuccessful coaching team, so I'm not sure how PC could have seen JS as a threat.

Maybe because the chairman himself said publicy both before Cullen came in and after he came, that John S was being groomed as the next Widnes Head Coach, and that he was part of the long term plan.
Cullen maybe thought that if results don't improve quickly, then Steve O would bring his promise forward, and get rid of PC.
There's the threat.
Simple warfare really;
Eliminate the threat and you are less threatened!
With regards to Wilkinson, he is a youth performance man, and probably doesn't want the Head Coach position. Hence, no threat.
Do you understand my logic?

Oh boo hoo, Kev's best bud has been replaced.
What do you want them to do, operate without the part time assistant coach they wanted while you get over them asking Stankevitch to drop down from full time

Not what was done, its the way it was done.
Would you (presuming you work) stand by and accept the situation if you are told that your full time contract of work is being replaced with a part time contract, with immediate effect and there was no negotiation? I think not.
I'm privy to more info than you are and all I can say is that it is wrong! very wrong!
I am still a massive Widnes fan, but I have to make a stand and voice my opnion. A bit like a union walk out, but I don't work at the club. I know it won't make a blind bit of difference, but it gets my frustration out.
Hope thats ok?

Maybe because I speak to him everyday and I would like to think that he tells me the truth!

Kev -
If I remember correctly, S'OC has not come out and said publicly that JS was going to be groomed to be the NEXT widnes coach.
After JS stepped back down from caretaker coach when PC was brought in, I think you will find that S'OC's statements were along the line of...... JS is a great young coach but both the club and JS do not feel his is ready to be the man to take on the task of getting Widnes a franchise. There was talk about him being a little inexperienced and JS publicly agreed. S'OC said that he thought JS was a prospect for the future and could see him at the reigns of Widnes further down the line. There was no promise at all of him being the NEXT Widnes coach.
This is not a threat to PC at all, PC has signed a contract and the club know that in order to ensure Widnes are upto franchise standard was always going to take time.
I can however see why JS may say he thinks PC saw him as a threat, lets be honest he has suffered a job loss and a dent of pride but that is business.

How ironic from someone who is making such a big deal of this in the first place...

Yes, and at the end of the day he is not the first and won't be the last person for it to happen to.

Agreed LULU
If my boss came to me tomorrow and said that my role was no longer deemed as full time but they were willing to offer me the job part time then I would have little or no choice than to either reduce my hours or leave and find another job.
I accept that in the current climate that is difficult as jobs are hard to come by for some, we also have to remember that it is a vicious circle.
It would seem that JS's role has been made part time as the club deem it unecessary to have a full time assistant to PC. This could well be down to the club feeling the pinch and needing funds in other departments. Both the reason for JS's departure and his greivance with having to leave could be blamed on the current economic climate, unfortunatley this is something that many of us face.
