Mort is only a young lad though, he only broke into the Leigh first team during last season, we may have identified that he has potential.  Hardman is a very solid and reliable player but doesn't offer the attacking threat and pace of an exciting attacking style full back.

I also read in League Express that Barrow wanted Grayshon but he chose Widnes instead so that was good news.

Hardman's only 23, hardly old himself. Mort would be a backwards, or at best a sidewards, step.

IMHO we should stick as far as we can with our own youngsters. It is very obvious that our concentration must be on a mighty, mainly young, pack.  We have backs who can play but they need that platform and will need it next year more than ever.

Our objective for this year has to be the NRC.  It ticks a box and it is within our grasp.  Next year, with PC building a team from the ground up, we should be better placed to go for the GF. I think that PC is much clearer in what he wants and needs from a team and SOC will see that he gets it.

Fax have said that they will have to build up their youth set up to tick that box, so they will have less to spend on their first team.

Don't know where Barrow get their money from but they will have to keep up the pressure.

Or how they are staying beneath the salary cap.

Can't remember whether Barrow are classed as a 'Development Area' like Gateshead etc.

Don't think so and in the paper up here last week that the chairman is not happy with the loss last week and was threatening all sorts....I personally think they are going spangles or bust this year to try and qualify for a licence application....we all know where that ends up. Let's see what they do next year Wink
