TIW are putting together a new site Dedicated to the Amatuer Game in the region so far we have had positives Responses from clubs in the town, and from clubs from St Helens and Warrington, before we take it any further we would like some C/C from people on this section of the board if you want your club news or want to get involved with the site drop me a P.M.

Cant personally see why Trust in WIDNES would have anything to do with Tatty Heef, Pilks, Brook or bank Quay tbh. If going down the amateur club route, the trust should be more involved at Junior level where future Widnes players would hopefully come from, Not Blackbrook open Age.

Guess it is up to the Widnes clubs to get involved
I'm sure there's someone from each club who could send in a match report each week; I'm happy to send in a few photos from whichever game I go to watch.
Could grow into a nice little site with a bit of help.

I would have thought that Widnes Amateur Rugby League would have been paramount in the minds of Trust in Widnes. The Trust does a good job of supporting the junior clubs already and this could be the stepping stone that the Open Age Clubs in the town need with regard to consistant publicity. I personally dont thing that it should be anything to do with teams outside the town either Asterix. It is only a personal opinion and I would be interested in knowing why the Trust feel its necessary to give such publicity to teams outside the town
How is this being funded by the way? Not a malicious question ..... just a question

I think the 'Saints' content is simply to demonstrate the site... it's the brainchild of vikingofhaydock (the clue is in his username) and he has links with Pilks and the St Helens press.
If the local clubs embrace the idea and supply the content, then it naturally becomes a Widnes / Runcorn dominated site.
As for being funded... it is hosted on vikingofhaydock's own webspace at the moment; if the site becomes a success then it might be possible to migrate to the servers we host this messageboard and the main Trust website on, which wouldn't incur any costs (I stand to be corrected if that isn't true). Worst case scenario it may require hosting on a different server in which case minimal server costs would need covering, we may be able to look for that to be covered by the inclusion of low cost advertising etc.

Thats Correct LV - It is hosted on my own webspace at the moment, the pictures etc are just give a feel to how the site would look - if the clubs in the towns of Runcorn and Widnes will embrace the idea that will be fanastic - Funding has not been mentioned at the moment by the Trust or its committee - and if the feeling by the people on this site is that we should not include clubs from outside the region thats fine and thinking about it if it was funded by the Trust then I think it will only include the teams from the area. It is only an idea I put forward to profile the Amatuer Game it would include the Junior area of the game in which the Trust want to promote as much as possible

I think Tommy, What you done is great, Would be good site too if you done NWCounties but nothing mentioned regarding TIW, Alternativley, have it with TIW but Halton only. Unless of course Simmies play Woolston etc etc. I dont think the 2 merged would work or be supported. The only link Pilks have with Widnes is you are a photographer of one and a fan of the other, Shouldnt be mixed.

I'd agree with all of that....
Suppose it all depends on the level of support from the Amateur community; if the interest grew so that there was interest from outside the Halton area, then I think the TIW association would be restrictive.
Things grow from small beginnings, and I can think of a few regular posters on this forum who regularly pen a match report for their teams... would be good to be able to find them all in one place after each weekend, with a bit of behind the scenes news, the various age groups all being covered, etc.
I hope vikingofhaydock gets lots of buy in from our local sides.... "The Rock's Simmies Diary..."
I can see it now

I think PMW or vinny11 would be more qualified to pen a match report since im still learning the names steve.
