I dug out a picture taken before a Bradford N v Widnes game with 7 trophies in display (all held at that time by one or other of the 2 clubs) for a thread about trophy pictures on another message board.  I think it might jog a few memories of the oldies on here but I can't get the picture to post for some reason  Sad

If anyone cares to have a look, you can see it here

It does jog a few memories ---- recognising players etc. It was around 1984, I think.

Ste Tilly - who played on the wing from time to time but never really broke through and became a regular first-teamer.

He was a couple of years ahead of me at school (St. Eddies) and I'm sure he used to spell his surname like that but in most places it seems to be spelled 'Tilley'.  Not 100% sure of the correct spelling to be honest.

Looking at the teams I think it was towards the end of the 1978-79.

If I remember correctly at the start of season(Aug-Sept 1978)
Widnes were reigning Champions.
Bradford won the Premiership in the May of 1978.
In the November of 1978 Widnes won the Lancs Cup & Bradford won the Yorks Cup.
Widnes then won the John Player Trophy in January 1979 & followed it by winning the BBC Floodlit Trophy,
Then Widnes went on to win the Challenge Cup.
Therefore towards the end of 1979 both clubs held all the trophies.
Widnes Held 5 Bradford held 2.

It was actually 12th May 1979, exactly one week after we beat Wakefield at Wembley.  Widnes won the game 27-19.
