According to today's League Express TO'C says we are close to announcing 4 DR signings having held talks with both the players and their Clubs, just waiting for the detailed rules to be clarified. Also confirmed Danny Hulme is to be promoted to the senior squad, which is welcome news.
So the dual reg wait may soon be over. TO'C makes an interesting point that the players concerned have been chosen to "culturally enhance what the club is trying to build and PC is fully supportive of that"

Just a note on the Danny Hulme front. Watching a DVD of one of the late 80's games and Danny is the spitting image of his dad! You forget that he wasn't that big at that early stage of his career but his attitude made up for that!!!

This makes me think that the signing will be young British fringe players similar to when we took Tomkins, Harrison, Bracek a couple of years ago, personally I am hoping for a tried an tested signing in the same catergory as Hodgson at Huddersfield. Might be wrong, just seems that ATM the focus is on youth and I think we may be lacking a bit of class an experience.

Or we might be gaining young lads who have all to prove and are willing to put their backs into it? Glass half full....?

I know dual registration maybe a good thing to signing quality. But with oldham and gateshead in problems are any players worth looking at cheap?Chris baines a kicker and a secondrower?Gateshead i like youngquest but i sure most will go back to oz with a few sign for barrow and fax.

Thought the same myself. Barrow and Fax still have room on the cap and are looking for more signings, whereas we're doing our "feeder clubs can work" act and going for dual contract players!

I don't like the fact Widnes are getting involved with this It's eating into the hands of the RFL for them to turn around and say 'You work as a perfect feeder club, Your not getting in Super League' It is also bad as if the players we have are regular first team players, come the end of the season all four players could be called back to the mother club, for reasons such as injuries leaving Widnes 4 players down. We should stay clear and bring in new players and also bring up the young local lads!

.is it not possible that widnes have spoken to r f l to ensure that's not the case. Is it not possible r f l might prefer clubs to be transparent about paying players. To suggest that taking 4 players makes us a feeder club is just hysteria. Do you really think widnes will be going into this blind ?

Believing what the RFL say. Hmm. I'll have to get back to you on that.

I'd echo that sentiment. In fact I'd think twice before believing the RFL, and Lewis the Liar in particular, if they told me that night followed day.
