Is it just me or are we starting to move the season more and more in to the winter. 3 years ago the season started start of March, end of Feb. Last season it was the start of Feb and now this season its the end of Jan.

Why not try Middle of August until the first week of May?  Has this been tried before?

2010 SL fixtures here

Celtic v Leeds at Wrexham. I thought the idea of the Crusaders was to expand into South Wales.

Wednesday night winter rugby, I can see it now. Big coat, extra jumper ,longjohns, scarf, gloves, flask, meat pie, oh and a match  programme!
It sounds good, but people will take a bit of convincing...

Aaah just perfect. If Widnes plan to take a game into Wrexham, fantastic! What a great idea to expand the frontiers of the game and generate more interest for the club. Yet a Welsh team goes on the road - in Wales - and that's a disgrace.

GSF - you are not serious? HELLO Its a Welsh team for Wales!!!... talk about a biased view. Shocked

No. It's an Australian team for Wrexham. Wrexham is a Soccer town. The idea of A rugby League team in Wales  was to bring RU Supporters through the gates to sample and then convert to Rugby League.

I would not recommend Widnes to take a game into Wrexham, but Chester would be a different thing.

Can you explain how Wrexham is more of a "soccer" town than Chester?

I always felt financially that a Welsh RL side would do better in Wrexham than in South Wales.

Simple.  I lived in North Wales and worked there for 8 years.  In Wrexham, only 10 miles away there were quite a lot of supporters who would follow them home and away, without fail. In Chester, 5 miles away most of the fans never went to away games but went to Vicars Cross, walking distance from the City Centre, and watched Chester RU. There were a few in my office who followed RL and used to come with me on match days to Widnes.

They probably would, but the idea of expanding into South Wales would not be met.

I've watched a couple of Internationals there.
Wales vs England and Wales vs The Cooke Islands.
Good Stadium reasonable crowds for both games.
People from the Wrexham Area cannot get to Newport in under 3 hours probably longer.

If they are converted to Rugby League they are likely to watch Widnes or Warrington.
Maybe we should take an advert out in the program or hand out leaflets watch your local RL side etc.
Bit of Guerilla marketing.

A little bit touchy about Celtic aren't you oz?Who are you, their self appointed spokesman on here? You seem to respond to the merest criticism of them but you are wasting your time. Not many people here have much sympathy for fake clubs like them .I just assumed, given the alleged 'market research' in and around South Wales into interest of RL prior to the licence decision, that the Crusaders would represent that part of the country.I admit I am not sure but I am not as interested in them as you are.So Celtic,or whatever they are called now, represent the whole of Wales?Good God,their crowds are even worse than I thought.Anyways,'on the road game' my word, they can't play at their Landlords gaff because of a game of kick and clap and then in the summer they will be on their travels again due to pitch reseeding. If I were a cynic I might think they have chosen to play at Wrexham because it is not far away from the Lancashire/Cheshire heartland and they can tap into the supporter base in those areas (not what expansion is about). However I am not cynical and look forward to the only professional club in Wales playing some on the road games in Abberystwyth,Porthmadog and Caernarfon.
