For me in my time at Simmies - Keith Newton, John Bowles and Peter Grady in the earlier days, and more recently Bri Capewell (points scoring machine) and Paul Roberts (must have the sorest arms in Widnes with all the trophies he's lifted!!)  Wink

Knew you would say Dave Vic!!!
He was definitely a brilliant player at West Bank I would suggest him and Charlie Jones from there.
From the Albert Tony Kinsey is the guy who always gets mentioned although I never got to see him play.

Ste Grady for the Bells.

Think he was still playing in the pack for them at 45 and was as fit as anyone.

Kinsey, one mean galaxyer. Got sent off in the Junior National Cup Final in the 70s for the Tigers, think that lad is still dazed now. Top bloke still.

peter grady was the best prop iv'e seen at simmies. chris kelly for the bells was very clever & ian dawson from the maries stand out from my early days playing. the thing about these players is they done it week in week out for years..

If we are talking TRUE legends my vote goes for the starting 17 players that beat Rosebridge in the National Cup Final for Simmies!!!

Quite correct there m8 that's what makes a legend.

John Percival, Rob Shone, Frank Malloy, Shaun Currier, Andy Parle, Eddie Cunningham, Chris Middlehurst, John Bowles, Keith Newton, Peter Grady, Mick Buck, Peter Worthington, John Ogburn, Kel McGeiver, Keith Murphy, Brian Capewell, Paul Roberts, Andy O'Neil, Mick Donnelly (Simmies)
Ian Dawson, Tony Hannon, Will Tilleke, Anthony Hollins (Maries)
Paul Davies, Gary Richardson (Albion)
Ste Grady, Chris Kelly (Farnworth)

And more recently...

Paul Walsh, Lee Swain, Dave Percival, Neil Percival, Gary Middlehurst (Simmies)
Lee Birdseye (Maries)

I know I've missed a few more off who'd I class as a legend but memory is bad and I've forgotten some of their names! And I haven't included some of the other clubs as these are the only one's I have had the pleasure to be able to play against or watch for any number of years  Smiley

i would have you in there kav but im talking more about players who are retired and whose name still lives on throughout there clubs, obviously the lads you have named are still class but im talking more after they have packed up. i would also have terry nanson on there ( robocop  Grin ) never saw him play in his prime but have played with him once for second team but told he was a great forward in his day. als thanks to nanno for putting me in as a legend as i was in that national cup winning side and thats the biggest trophy i or the club have ever won, i still wodnt class myself as a legend as im only 23 but thats one trophy i can brag about to most people Grin.
