Tony Myler never got the credit he deserved

Vinty with the cup is the classic Rugby League Challenge Cup picture.

Alex Murphy did a piece for a tabloid (think it was the Mirror) a few years back. The piece was Alex picking what he would class as the best XIII since he's been involved in the sport. Anyway, he picked Myler at stand off, and said in the process that he was aware of how many people would be surprised at the choice. Murphy knows what we know, that if it hadn't been for such unfortunate injuries at such critical times in his international career, he would have been regarded as the best stand off of his time. I couldn't help but think fair play to Murphy for putting Tony in there.
I did a fund-raiser thing for Halton Haven with the Welly some 8 or 9 years ago, and Murphy, since I've started rambling, was guest speaker. I must say he was an absolute pleasure to deal, totally approachable and cannot do enough for good cause.
