They are signing Paul Cooke. They say they couldn't meet Danny Brough's wage demands but that Huddersfield made an offer which was acceptable to him. Luke Robinson has just signed a new contract at Huddersfield ?

But will Cooke's wages be any less than Brough's? I wouldn't have thought so. So they'll still be paying out the same-ish amount of money, salary-wise. Who's the better player? They're both creative, with a good kicking game, but if I was picking one of 'em for the Lions (dream on Spelly!) it'd (just) be Brough! Spelly.

I agree with you but if anyone knows them both very well it's John Kear. Maybe Hull KR just want rid and are willing to take a hit just to get him out of the club. Wigan did a siimilar thing with Sean Long which probably wasn't the best decision they ever made but we were more than happy to take him off their hands. That is the position Wakefield may be in too good a deal to turn down.

Saw an interesting thing the other day, there is a Danny Brough, Rugby league player born 1983 who is on the insolvency list in the UK and apparently his missus was declared bankrupt just last year! Maybe he is desperate for the highest deal no matter what!

I believe he will be going for cash and maybe player exchange. So if as suggested Cook comes on a free on similar money then Wakefield will have money from Brough sale plus extra players if they come although they would also have extra wages for the extra players.
Bad move for Wakefield IMO but if finances dictate then they are doing the right thing.

As he's out of contract end of season and already rejected there final offer, surely can only be a good move if covers getting Cooke and a few more faces.

Don't forget that they'll have the money saved over from Terry Newton's cancelled contract. They'll also have spare cash from when Stosic left.
