Wind your neck in! I meant me!
I did say I didn't understand your wording about Hijacking the thread. Sorry for misunderstanding the direction at who it was aimed at. I think it was because you quoted my nope. Which lead me to grab the wrong end of the stick.

I also work at Tesco's and there are more foreign workers than locals and to be honest it's a disgrace. The promise of jobs for local people was that just a promise to get the grants.

Then the scandal about 25 foreign workers on the same National Insurance number working for the Staffline agency it's a joke!!!!!!!!!!!! To add insult as it gets busier the rumour is they will be agency staff and this is how they operate at the other distribution centres according to the support staff.

Happy Days
I think your way off the mark with this statement. Most of people I work with are Britsih. I'm on Nights so maybe the mix may be different on Double Days. I'm in a crew of approx 25 on Goods In & we only have 4 foreign workers in our team. Yeah the angency staff may have more foreign workers on picking. But most of the fulltime staff are Localish. There are quite a few Scousers but they are mainly from Runcorn. All of the foreign fulltime Tesco workers are transferees from the 2 sites that closed down in Middleton & Middlewich.

Rickp the point I was making was that when the recruitment first started they stated that Tesco's would be employing around 650 local people and there is no way near that number. The rumour is that any extra staff will be through the agency. By the sound of it more foreign workers are on the double day shift.

Rick - no problem!

In other news, I hear that following recent RFL indications all further positions at the warehouse are to be advertised in Australia. Wink

Tesco ain't taking on anymore staff at the minute.

I seen alot of the new starters in the canteen this morning after my shift. They all had Staffline gear on so guess they are Russians. Wonder if they all have the same N.I. number this time rund?

Bulldog- if you work in the canteen any chance of sorting us out with a new food card please?
