Given that the generic application form didn't even ask for any previous experience I think the Polish thing is very relevent. In my previous job in a local poly factory we were urged to take on the Polish because they would work long hours. I am not against the Poles and have many Polish friends and given my name is Karalius and my granddad was a Lithuanian immigrant i'm the last to complain. But please don't be fooled by what companies tell you... they would take Polish workers everytime, because they know they will put the hours in.
A load of
plums your post is Peppy. I'm Widnes born & bred I work there as are most of my workmates. There is about a dozen of us who are quite pally now we've been working together for almost 12 months. Most were born in Halton Borough & a couple of them are Liverpool lads who have lived most of their lives in the borough. Most of the FULLTIME workforce are believe or not of British origin between 85-90%. Although not all are from Halton quite a lot commute from Manchester & Middlewich as their depot's were closed down to make way for ours.
Also I had no experience at all in warehouse work as I only had 2 previous jobs before starting at Tesco. 10 years at Ladylove Kitchens & nearly 21 at Ford/Jaguar Landrover.
I don't know how you filled in your application form. So I'll ask you now. When you filled in your form did you put any of your answers down the middle ground on the form? To jog your memory I'll explain what I mean. To get an interview you had score 23 out of the 25 questions asked. The columns for the answers were worded, Alot like me/Sometimes like me/Not like me. If you put more than 2 answers in the sometimes like me column you wouldn't have got an invitation for an interview.
